A calm training studio in the evening, an oak table set with notebooks and practice tools, a learner in the background.

Practical skills, taught by people who practise them.

Vocational courses built around hands-on practice, taught in cohorts in the classroom and live over Zoom — for people starting a new profession or growing in their current one.

About UniSteps

A vocational college built for real learners.

UniSteps College for Vocational Training was founded in 2019 by Malak Shaaban, a teacher who specialised in learning difficulties and adapted teaching. She saw how often capable people were let down by courses designed for a single way of learning.

Today UniSteps offers career-focused courses for the Arabic-speaking community in northern Israel and beyond: complementary therapies, beauty, languages and personal development, taught so that every learner can keep up and succeed.

Why UniSteps

How we teach, and how you join.

Our approach comes from adapted teaching: clear structure, plenty of practice, and attention to how each person learns.

  1. 01Practice

Most of the session is doing, not listening

Instructors demonstrate, then you practise with feedback until the technique is yours.

  2. 02Adapted teaching

    Different learners, different routes

Pace, explanations and tools are adjusted so people who learn differently can progress with confidence.

  3. 03Cohorts

A group that starts and finishes together

Sessions are scheduled in advance, so you can plan work and family around them.

  4. 04Completion

    Clear requirements from day one

Each course states its teaching hours, sessions and what completing it requires.

Founder’s story

Portrait of Malak Shaaban, founder and director of UniSteps

Malak Shaaban

Founder and director

It began in the classroom, with learners who were overlooked.

Malak Shaaban began her career as a teacher specialising in learning difficulties and adapted teaching strategies. She founded UniSteps in 2019 after seeing how often institutions failed learners who struggle.

That conviction still shapes the college: practical, career-focused training, taught in a way that meets each learner where they are.
