  • An educational partnership with parents and the community

The programs

Twelve programs, each with its Gefen number.

Each program is listed in the Ministry of Education's Gefen catalogue of programs under the number shown here.

  1. Program no.12191

    Attentive Mind

    An attentive, focused mind

The program improves attention and concentration and builds self-awareness and effective study habits in students who struggle, using tools that stimulate brainwaves — such as computer games, cards and videos — that students enjoy using. It teaches time management and how to cut down distractions, strengthens students' mental resilience and improves how they function at school.

    Target population
Students who struggle academically, with learning disabilities and attention and concentration disorders.
  2. Program no.58519

    Flexibility, Growth, Soul

An emotional therapeutic program for children and young people

The program addresses how students cope with emotional, social and behavioural challenges and how these affect their schoolwork. It gives students skills to cope with adjustment difficulties arising from anxiety, emotional regulation, trauma, social problems and family crises. It also offers staff tools within a structured, multidisciplinary professional therapeutic framework, drawing on the tools of NLP.

    Target population
Students with adjustment difficulties; educational staff.
  3. Program no.58518

Eye to Eye — Young People Building Partnership

Leading together — a partnership of identity and future

The program focuses on learning about the different cultures in the mosaic of Israeli society, locally and nationally. Jewish and Arab communities live side by side, in a reality of unfamiliarity and at times of suspicion and tension. The program reflects the need to emphasise partnership built on what makes each community distinct, while creating an educational space based on mutually getting to know each other's cultures and on respectful, bridging dialogue — strengthening a sense of belonging to a healthier, more united society.

    Target population
The student body; educational staff and parents.
  4. Program no.58517

    Staying in the Picture

A program to prevent dropout and to strengthen and motivate students

Dropout is the product of environmental, personal and psychological factors that can disrupt learning. Students who experience emotional, social or academic difficulty are at risk of disconnecting from school and from learning, whether hidden or overt. Taking a whole-system view, Staying in the Picture strengthens students' sense of belonging and capability and maps out a route back into school and learning, through a personal relationship, emotional empowerment, an experience of success and greater motivation.

    Target population
Students showing signs of risk of hidden or overt dropout.
  5. Program no.58507

    Exam Integrity

Letting go of fear — connecting to success

Exam integrity expresses the core values of fairness, honesty, responsibility and mutual respect in learning and assessment. The program builds trust between learners, teachers and the school by upholding clear rules of integrity, and at the same time addresses the importance of letting go of fear and building self-confidence in assessment. It gives real tools and develops the ability to perform under pressure, fostering a culture in which an achievement has value only when it is the fruit of personal effort, and an environment that is fair, in which every candidate has equal conditions to succeed.

    Target population
    Students; educational staff.
  6. Program no.58506

Preparing for Careers and Life after High School

Taking off — preparing for real life

The program prepares secondary-school students for their future adult lives through practical tools for entering the job market, career planning, personal management, decision-making and an introduction to the adult world. It covers the world of work and fields of interest, self-awareness and each student's personal strengths, tools for personal and group financial management, time planning, interpersonal communication and self-marketing — and links a personal vision with the practical options in academic and professional life.

    Target population
    High-school students, grades 11–12.
  7. Program no.58505

    Spoken — Hebrew for Life

    Spoken Hebrew for high schools

Students in Arab society find it hard to use Hebrew fluently and confidently, especially everyday spoken Hebrew. The program focuses on the importance of command of Hebrew as a tool for wider participation in higher education, the job market and public life in Israel. Language opens up dialogue and mutual recognition, gives self-confidence, access to information and to the world of culture, and contributes to coexistence between communities.

    Target population
    Students in every age group.
  8. Program no.12184

    Adapted Teaching and Learning Strategies

    Adapted teaching

The program teaches strategies for coping with learning difficulties and for developing an emotional and social self-image, using alternative strategies that are engaging and matched to each student's level, to improve and advance their schoolwork. It starts from the principle that every student is entitled to an equal opportunity to fulfil their learning potential, so it focuses on learning skills, thinking skills, encouraging positive behaviour, self-awareness and motivation to learn.

    Target population
Primary and middle-school students with learning difficulties; educational staff.
  9. Program no.14064

    Mapping Emotions and Preventing Risk

    Mapping emotions and strengthening values

Being able to map emotions is an important basis for emotional and social development, personal resilience and healthy relationships with others. The program develops self-awareness, self-control and empathy through getting to know the world of emotions, focusing on an emotional vocabulary, emotional regulation, empathy, positive communication and building personal resilience.

    Target population
All students in every age group.
  10. Program no.12308

    Knowledge Is Power

    Knowledge enrichment

Knowledge is an essential resource for people and society: it enables personal development, encourages critical thinking, advances equal opportunity and builds a more advanced society — and the more knowledge and tools a person has, the greater their power to choose, to influence and to shape their future. The program offers enrichment clubs, reinforcement tracks in languages and preparation for excellence exams. It is built on the principles of experiential learning and a play-based approach to education, so it includes creative activities that empower students and raise achievement.

    Target population
Students in every age group; educational staff.
  11. Program no.12315

    Mobile in Working Order
